Excessive sitting—coined “sitting disease”—is linked to over 30 chronic diseases and conditions. By some estimates, sitting too much can harm your health more than smoking! Over a half-dozen studies also report that prolonged sitting (and a low daily step count) can even undo the beneficial effects of exercise. There’s a simple fix that you can start doing today to protect your body from a sedentary lifestyle; find more ways to move! When you get up and move, all parts of your body benefit. Moving more increases blood flow to your brain so you release more feel-good chemicals that increase productivity, improve mood, and reduce fatigue and food cravings. 14. Say hello to "Goodbye Baby" - Park Record
Jan 22, 2008 · While at the beginning she seems like a typical spoiled, attention-starved teenager, writer/director Daniel Schechter ... work out a lot of our ...
"Goodbye Baby" follows the story of stand-up comedy hopeful Melissa Brooks, and her journey as she goes from being not funny to being kind of funny.Melissa, played by Christine Evangelista, graduates from an affluent high school and, with no money to attend prestigious universities with her peers, moves to New York City to live with her gay, older brother. While at the beginning she seems like a typical spoiled, attention-starved teenager, writer/director Daniel Schechter said his goal with this film was to "take that girl and see if we can make her likeable." He said the essay, about throwing a fashion show to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina, made the girl sound incredibly spoiled, but also encouraged him to make a movie in which that type of girl seems "more rounded out than they normally seem in a film."Viewers will not fall in love with Melissa in the opening scenes of the movie, and they're not supposed to, according to Schechter. "It's almost more fun to earn it," he says.He says he takes it as a compliment when, in the beginning, "people tend to dislike her and they come around to like her." Schechter believes that one thing that makes this attitude change possible is the talented performance of Evangelista. Once she gets to New York City, Melissa gets a job at a comedy club in hopes of pursuing her dream of becoming...
